Hello, I'm Jee Hoon
I’m a Korean American filmmaker based in Los Angeles, originally from Seoul, South Korea.
Having grown up in Boston, MA, Zaragoza, Spain, and New York City, before fulfilling my military service in Korea, I write coming of age dramas and sporty romcoms that blend my cross cultural identity with authentic storytelling.
I am a 2024 HRTS (Hollywood Radio & Television Society) Foundation Fellowship Program finalist as well as a Top 50 Writer in the ISA (International Screenwriting Association) Fast Track Program.
My latest short film JESA, starring Esther Moon from Academy Award-winning film MINARI, premiered at the 47th Asian American International Film Festival and was awarded Best Ensemble Acting Award at NYU's First Run Film Festival.
As a writer/director fellow at HRTS I am developing a feature adaptation for my TV pilot FOOTBALL CLUB BIG APPLE, which was selected as a finalist for the Palm Springs International Screenplay & Pitchdeck Contest and NYU LA PitchFest.
